Quadruple-stranded DNA : ウィキペディア英語版 | Quadruple-stranded DNA
A quadruple-stranded DNA, also known as a G-quadruplex, is a package-like structure of DNA, formed by the interaction of four guanine bases that together make a square. Guanine, one of the chemical bases that make up DNA molecules, seems to be closely linked to DNA replication and cell division. Because of this, the G-quadruplex DNA may play a role in the development of cancer. Shankar Balasubramanian and his colleagues believe their discovery may help make it possible to stop the runaway cell proliferation at the root of cancer. ==References== 〔
